Spring make-up 2015

I warched the movie G.B.F (Gay Best Friend) recently and got inspired by the character Fawcett Brooks’ (played by Sasha Pieterse) make-up.

I tried to re-create and adapt the look for me and spring 2015.

Eyes: I used the Lorac Mega Pro Palette. For the inner half of my eyelids I used the colour “White” and for the outer side and crease I used a mix of the colors “Blush” and “Orchid”

Eyebrows: Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade in “medium brown”

Face(in order of usage): Too Faced Hangover RX primer, Aritaum Pore Master, IOPE Perfect Skin base in “green” The Face Shop Power Perfection BB cream in “01 light beige” and I finished off with a bit of Innisfree’s No-Sebum Mineral Powder.

For concealer I used The Saem cover perfection tip concealer in “01 clear beige” and I used Maybelline Instant Age Rewind in the shade “Fair” for under my eyes.

For contour I used my Etude House Aloha Bronzer in the shade “01 Wood Brown”.

Blush: Milani Baked Powder Blush in “Luminoso”

Lipstick: MAC lipstick “Angel”
I will try to do a make-up tutorial on this soon~|

Current favourite make up products

* Naked2 lipliner – I love this, this is so amazing

* Mac viva glam 2 lipstick (it’s the nude shade

* Anastasia dipbrow pomade – in the shade “medium brown”/ Anastasia brow duo in “medium brown” for a more natural look

Another fab make up look;

* MAC Matchmaster foundation (my shade is 1.0, I’m very pale)

* Too Faced Semi-Sweet Palette “coconut cream” as a base, “peanut” in the crease and “nutmeg” on te eyelid. Complete the look with the glittery pink in the middle of the lid and winged eyeliner

* Naked (yep I have both of the Naked lipliners) lipliner on the bottom lip (also fill that in)

Also side note;

I’m getting lots of compliments on my perfume lately. My favourite perfume that I wear almost every day lately is Viktor & Rolf Bonbon. It smells so delicious~ both men and women compliment on it so it’s popular both among boys and girls 😉

Holika Holika Soda Pore Cleansing Soda Water Review

image

So when this product arrived in the mail I was really confused. I’ve previously used the Holika Holika Soda Pore BB Cleansing Oil and was really satisfied with that, but this product slightly threw me off guard since you have to assemble it. It comes with a small bag tied around the neck of the bottle and in that bag there’s a small soda tablet that you have to drop in the water inside the bottle, without screwing the cap back on and leave in for around 20 minutes. Then after that, the product is ready to be used.

After using this product for a while now, I’ve mainly used this product as a toner sometimes, to make sure I’ve gotten all off my makeup off when washing my face. I’ve also liked to use it for make-removal by applying it on a cotton pad before swiping my face with it. It also works with removal of eye make-up but it does have a refreshing feel to it, so therefore be careful not to get anything of this product into your eyes.
I’ve previously liked being able to take my make-up off as quickly as possible, with make-up wipes and etc, but I don’t feel like my skin is thoroughly cleaned anymore when I’ve done that. This might have to do with the fact that I’ve invested in a Clarisonic Mia 2 recently. And it sure is an investment, considering it’s price. So far when it comes to the Clarisonic Mia 2, my skin is in the purging phase but getting better. My skin did get really upset and inflamed in the beginning of using the Clarisonic so I’m happy that after using it for two weeks it is getting better now. I will post a full review of the Clarisonic Mia 2 in a month or two.

Finally I want to note that I so much prefer the Holika Holika Soda Pore BB Cleansing Oil over the soda water, the BB cleansing oil is so much beter, and it did help me combat skin redness and blemishes in the past. However this I cannot use with the Clarisonic as oil cleansers wear out the brushes a lot faster, so I use it to get my makeup off, then wash my face with The Body Shop’s Tea Tree Oil Cleansing wash or The Face Shop’s Rice Water Cleansing Wash (my favourite cleanser ever).

Yesterday I had a great day out

I was out with many of my closest friends in Korea yesterday, and I felt so good about my make up, so here’s some pictures~

My hair looked very much like Kardashian sisters hair style when they curl it 🙂

Hi everyone, sorry I kinda faded away from this blog for a while.

Right now I go to Korea University. My major is International Studies. I’m right now waiting for my final grades for this semester. I’m right now on winter holidays until March. Also I’ve dyed my hair a darker shade of brown, I got too bored with the blonde hair colour.
I’m right now living with two italian friends, Anna and Laura, and Anna’s dog (chihuahua) Bella. They’re so cool and so much fun. They have a blog about Korea in italian, check it out if you speak italian: persiincorea.com

Make-up products I’m currently loving:
* Laura Mercier Foundation Primer
* Everything from Benefit (especially my Dandelion blush, its just the perfect colour)
* The Face Shop’s “My Lips Taste Like Cherry” Lipstain (the dark pink and the orange:y colour are both perfection, got the tip on the dark pink shaded one from my korean friend Sky, it looks amazing on everyone)
* Make Up Forever’s Concealer palette (as it saves my life and my face all the time)
* Missha’s Foundation Stick (my shade is 21, the lightest one, also a tip from a korean friend, Min Jung, if you blend it with BB cream your face looks so flawless, then just top off with, preferrably loose, powder afterwards)
* Peri Peri lipbalm in Sweet Peach

I’ve also realised that being away from my cat Bernard this long (I haven’t seen him in a year now) makes me really want to buy a cat here. And if I’m gonna buy a cat, I really want to buy a Bengal Cat. They look so cool and they’re so big and cute. Like small tiny tigers. I’d love that^^

Review: Etude House Wonder Pore Freshner

IMG_0084

Etude House Wonder Pore Freshner is a product I picked up (this one in the small 100 ml size) just before I left South Korea in the beginning of June. And it’s lasted me until now, and I haven’t been using it sparingly, cause I rarely do when it comes to skin products. Isn’t that amazing? That means that this product lasted me FIVE MONTHS! Which is quite amazing.

The pore freshner is a skin toner, so you just put this product on a cotton swab and swab it over your face. The container is what fascinated me about this product, it promises so much;
* Deep cleanses pores
* Maintain ph 4.5 + 1
* Control a large amount of the sebum (sebum basically means excess oil and dirt in your skin)
* Minimize the appearence of pores
* Refine the skin tones
* Keep the elasticity of pores
* Moisturize inside and outside the skin

All amazingly good aspects to get from a skin toner, right?
I don’t know exactly how much it helped with all those aspects on my skin, but I know it really helped cleanse my pores and got out dirt that I couldn’t get off with just cleaning my face. I think sometimes I saw pore minimizing qualities working on my skin, but I’m not sure, since I actually do have quite medium-sized pores usually and it’s not like they’ve disappeared.

I would buy this product again, it’s been better than some american toners I’ve used previously, but I think my favourite toner so far is Arsainte ECO-THERAPY Extreme Moisture Tonic with Essential from The Face Shop.

My score for this product is: 7/10!

Korean Skincare Order – which goes first?

Here’s my easy instructions to the asian/korean 5-step skincare routine:

1. Cleansing —> 2. Massage & mask —> 3. Tone —> 4. Essence —> 5. Moisturize

1. Cleansing
Never go to sleep with your makeup still on!
Cleanse your face and also make sure to use make-up remover to avoid dirt still clinging on to your skin.

2. Massage & Mask
Facial massage is the secret to glowing skin, therefore apply a massage pack or cream and massage your face.

A facial massage improves blood circulation and is a great stress reliever! Facial massages also stimulates the flow of oxygen and nutrients to improve the elasticity of your skin. The skin temperature goes up and that opening pores which push out the dirt in the skin.

Incorporate a facial massage into your beauty regime at least 2 – 3 times a week for visible results.
Facial massages does not do any good for oily skin, so refrain from doing it if you suffer from oily skin!

Instead! Use a face mask; my favourites are of course the sheet masks, also many of my friends enjoy using them!

Facial masks should be applied 1 – 2 times a week, after cleansing and preferably at night.

3. Toner/Facial Freshener
Choose a toner that suits your skintype, it’s very vital. I’ve chosen wrong so many times. If you’re in Korea, take the help of someone working in the stores, they really know their stuff, otherwise just test your way to the perfect toner for you.

4. Essence/serum
Essence or serums are very light, liquid concentrates that treat and correct skin problems. Essence is easier absorbed and penetrates deep into your skin, better than regular moisturizers. For best results, wait 5 minutes after applying serums before applying your moisturizer to allow maximum absorption.

5. Moisturize
Use a moisturizer for cream that suits your skin type well!
Start off with emulsion,  wait for it to be absorbed by your skin and then top it off with skin cream or face moisturiser 🙂
Emulsion is the best, especially when used on the side of skincreams and moisturizers 🙂

The more you pay attention to taking care of your skin, the better it can look, honestly. Good glowing skin does not come by being lazy and korean women are really serious about skin care.
I wish you the best of luck in the future with your skincare!
