I don’t know if any people reading this know, but I’ve since some years back been a big fan of CNBLUE. This fandome also increased last year when I bought the Heartstrings/You’ve Fallen For Me-DVD from ebay. And of course, a lot because of watching that drama, Yonghwa and Minhyuk became my favourite members in CNBLUE. Well, my favourite has always been Yonghwa due to his amazing voice, but this increased more from seeing him acting. Then also watching You’re Beautiful/He’s handsome increased my affection for him more.
Also, I should confess that one of the first things I bought in Korea was a t-shirt with Jung Yonghwa’s face on it that I sleep in and also the You’re Beautiful DVD-box. So to say it shortly – I’m clearly a big CNBLUE fan.
‘
For some reason this boy has been re-occuring (like things happend that I relate to him) since I arrived in Korea. This happend my first week in Korea; I bought the photobook for “You’re Beautiful” and when I’m on the train back to my hostel, showing the book to my friends saying that I adore Jung Yonghwa to them, the korean lady sitting next to me is looking over at what I’m holding, obviously she knows the drama and looking so very proud. Even my friends said her reaction was so strong (smiling to me, looking very proud and happy) that it seemed like she was his grandmother or somehow related to Jung Yonghwa himself.
Then in March or April I’m on the subway-train going somewhere with my friend Wally. She’s talking to me, and I for some reason look slightly behind her. About ten seats from us, opposite to where I’m sitting, a young man who looks like he could be Jung Yonghwa’s twin is sitting. I couldn’t help myself. I was staring a little. Even Wally noticed, but she didn’t notice who I was staring at though. So yeah, sometimes around people who are very handsome/pretty, I get a bit awkward. Like I did that time. I still don’t know if it was him or not.
Also these last few weeks I’ve been forcing my one of my best friends to watch You’re Beautiful and she loves Yonghwa too. He’s her favourite, so whenever we talk about the drama – we end up talking about him.
Anyways, back to the main story. In March I was invited to go to the live-recording of Mnet M! Countdown as I know a girl who works there and I finally got to see CNBLUE “live” for the first time. The songs where pre-recorded, but that didn’t matter for me since I was just ecstatic about seeing them fooling around on stage being cute. I knew the lyrics to the new songs so I was singing along in the crowd. As people who’ve been at Mnet probably know – the place for standing is super-small and you’re very close to the stage. Also I was with some other swedish people I just met there, one of them, a girl, was standing next to me in one of the front rows amongst all the korean people. We stood out a little, so to speak. I noticed after a while that since I was the only foreigner singing along to the words of the song Yonghwa had noticed me. I was so surprised. He was looking at me with this confused expression like “How in the world does this foreign girl know the lyrics to the songs I just wrote, they are in korean, how has she managed to learn them?”. Also I noticed Minhyuk looking happy that I was singing along.
Second time I saw CNBLUE live I’d gotten tickets from a friend to go to the live-recording of Inkigayo. And again (this was like three-four days after I’d been to M! Countdown) and once again I saw that Yonghwa noticed me. But this time, of course I was not standing, but seated in one of the first rows to the right of the stage, so I was really unsure if I was being delusional.
The third time I see CNBLUE live is in April sometime, about a month later at Inkigayo, again. I hadn’t yet really figured out how to get into the korean music shows without a ticket so basically I’d missed most of CNBLUE’s promotions of “Ear Fun”. This time I was there with my german friend Vanessa, and our main priority that day was to get to see BIG BANG live.
And this day CNBLUE where playing again (they actually won Inkigayo that day, which was awesome). Also, again their song, this time they only played “Hey You” was pre-recorded so they where once again standing on stage being silly and awkwardly cute. During the song (I’m once again singing along, of course) Yonghwa sees me and his mouth kinda falls open and he looks surprised, then he starts looking very very happy and waves at me. The face of happiness he had I’d describe as the one of seeing an old best friend /someone he likes. I was so stunned and surprised I didn’t know what to do. This time, my friend sitting who’s sitting next to me, turns to me and says “What did you do to deserve that reaction from Yonghwa?!?”. We looked around us aswell and some korean girls on my other side where looking a little bit annoyed by the attention I’d gotten. Also I was later dancing along to the song, and he looks up at me later at the moment when the chorusline goes “Oh my darling hey you” and I do this dance-move where I’m pointing at him during the “hey you”-part and he smiles again.
This is definitely one of the best moments of fangirling I’ve had in Korea.
Yonghwa gave me some awesome fanservice that day and he seems like an awesome guy.
Also he’s the only guy I think I could honestly say looks sexy when riding a bicycle.
I hope to one day get to meet him.
Also, I’m guessing maybe I understand that I, a foreign girl got this kind of fanservice, cause you know, there must be a reason why he knows how to speak english really well….. I’m not saying why, but I have my suspicions.
I hope that I get to see CNBLUE again before going back to Sweden.
I tried to apply for the BOICE-fanclub a week or so ago and the website was lagging so that sucked… So sad
